Morning folks! It's Friday once more! Today I thought I'd let your brain relax and just show you some cute animal pics.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group gives Kossacks a safe place to check in, a daily diary where we can let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, earthquakes, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It also allows us to find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, earthquakes etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a Kosmail and ask to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!
We do have a diary schedule. But, when you are ready to write that diary, either post in thread or send FloridaSNMOM a Kosmail with the date. If you need someone to fill in, ditto. FloridaSNMOM is here on and off through the day usually from around 9:30 or 10 am eastern to around 11 pm eastern.

On the way to get groceries on Wednesday as we were about to turn the corner by the daycare down the street, we were stopped by one of the workers. They had a dog, a puppy that had been trying to get in the play yard to the kids. She was very friendly but because it wasn't their kids, they of course couldn't let her in the yard. She wanted to know if the pup was one of ours before she called animal control.
This pup we'd run into before a couple of times, she's a young mixed breed (Bit is convinced she's a Pit/Boxer/Lab from her personal research). But she was just skin and bones although clean like she was a repeat escape rather than a new one. She is very friendly, loves kids and other dogs and cats. She's also wheelchair friendly, she walks right beside it without trying to cross under the wheels or jump up, and she doesn't shy away from the chair.
We can't keep another dog, but we brought her home to feed her up and see if we can't find her a home. I'm hoping my friend who recently lost his dog to a dognapper may be interested. He was going to stop by last night after work, but had an emergency so he's planning to come today instead. Last night we worked on slowly bringing her into the house with the other dogs because it was getting too hot in the carport for her. They're getting along about as to be expected. Mostly good with a few grumbles because she's in someone else's spot or wants to play while they're napping.
Dori isn't interested in being friends, but the pup (whom we've named "Sweety") keeps trying. But Dori hisses at her after a couple of kisses and when she gets tired of it she jumps up on the counter. Sweety doesn't chase her when she runs off but she keeps trying to be friends. So I think she'll do pretty good in whatever home we find for her.
This is Dori with her kid, and Morgaine in the background behind them. Dori was mad at me because she hates the flash, but it was too cute a picture to pass up.
Dori decided to claim Bit again today
Then Sweety wanted to investigate. For a while after this she had both Dori and Sweety laying on her, I had to go 'rescue' her so she could get up.
Sophie decided to steal Caedy's computer chair and take a nap, since Caedy was called into work on her day off
Freya and Sweety napping on the couch:
And I will end with a pic I took the other night, of a very pinned Caedy.
