This is an entry i've written for my facebook feed... It is short and sweet and it presumes that you are in my circle of friends and have been reading all along and are actually interested in what i write, lolol...! It is based on my posts for this week, my repost of a dailykos entry from 2009 called The Parable of the Lifeline, and my constant desire to shout, "Hey wait, people we are focusing on the wrong problems!"
So my topic this week has been the law, and pharisees, and how ten simple rules can become a thousand complex ones. That was the situation two thousand years ago when a divinely inspired man stepped up and straightened things out with an eleventh simple rule: Love your neighbor as yourself.
This week we learned the city of Ferguson, MO will collect three million dollars in fines and court costs from it's citizens in the year 2015. Seems like maybe we've come full circle, and ...hmmm, eleven is an odd number, isn't it? That's why i'd like to propose a twelth simple rule:
Love your neighbors children as you love your own, and love your own children as you love your gods themselves.
