So... yeah. We got the car back. But it wasn't quite over...
More below the dooblydoo.
So the car was returned to the marina early Monday morning. The police were notified by the Marina office that it was there - and they towed it away, rather than call us to come verify it was mine. We were notified Monday afternoon where to get it and we picked it up today. (Our ride fell through Monday, we took a cab today when it fell through AGAIN.) But we went to pick up the car.
NOTHING was missing. Nothing. Everything was in its place, it started right up, there was still about 1/8 of a tank of gas. A few more miles, but not a huge amount. So we gassed up and went to Portland, as we needed to make a kosher food run and get a few other things.
The day itself was just so bizarre. Nothing went wrong, just, exits weren't where we expected them, things were just a little weird. Ikea seemed to move several times. (We got these great rolling grocery carts with waterproof bags for lugging our groceries up and down the dock.) We talked about getting something at Home Depot, realised we had no clue where we were - BAM - giant ass Home Depot in front of us.
"Thanks car!" was said at the same time.
It was just a weird ass day. We've decided the car clearly was in some Warehouse 13esque accident and was still shaking some weird Artifact weirdiness off.
But the car came home. And we used the money raised to add theft coverage to the insurance.
Thank you.
