No, this is not a late April Fools Day post even though it seems like one.
Could it possibly be true? Are Wisconsin Republicans FINALLY performing the cranial sphinctoral extraction they've needed for oh so long? There are indications....
I just can't say enough good things about the fine folks over at the Wisconsin Citizens Media Cooperative. Writer Barbara With recently posted an article there titled Wisconsin Republicans Abandoning Scott Walker
On March 25, 2015, former editor of the Waukesha Freeman Pete Kennedy published an opinion piece in the paper urging Wisconsin conservatives to not only reject Scott Walker, but to hold him accountable for the damage he has done to the state.
Kennedy is not the only one urging Wisconsin Republicans to question Scott Walker. Recently extremists in the party, including Rep. Robin Vos (R-63) and Sen. Tom Tiffany (R-12), began questioning Walker’s latest budget, which drastically cuts money for public education, eliminates essential programs for the disabled and elderly that allow them to stay in their homes, increases bonding for transportation and roads, and slashes $300 million from the UW System.

Former Republican Senator Dale Schultz is another voice of reason urging his colleagues to reconsider their extreme actions. Known as a moderate while in office, he has spoken out against his former party, saying, “I moved to the left just by standing still” and supporting Democrat Pat Bomhack who ran for his seat.
Barbara With's first link is REALLY worth clicking on through to. Pete Kennedy pulls no punches in his epic Walker smackdown. Much is lost via fair use rules in trying to bring you the feel of the piece. He starts out by describing exactly who he's talking to:
You stood with the governor during the recall. You proudly displayed your “I stand with Scott Walker” yard sign and bumper sticker.
He won, of course. Scott is a fighter! You are a fighter! He started the bar brawl, but you finished it. You knew he could never forget you — even if he ran for president.
After laying out point by point how Walker has screwed not just his base but Wisconsin in general, Kennedy drives the consequences home:
...Deep down you know the truth: Walker is an opportunist who is stepping on this trivial state as he makes his way to the presidency.
But he’s not just stepping on the liberals who marched in circles around the Capitol, or signed the recall petition, or went to court over his emails.
(snip)
That’s the reality. You can acknowledge it, fight for this state and hold him accountable; as a conservative you’re in a unique position to do so. Or, you can watch our state lose unprecedented opportunities...
FINALLY! It's about goddamn time we got calls for common fucking sense from the right in this state. Walker and the assholes who own him have been getting away with the meme that those of us fighting for Wisconsin's soul are just partisan sore losers. If Scott Walker wasn't destroying the great state we love then we wouldn't have been screaming from the rooftops for the last four years.
In less than a week, Wisconsin holds it's April 7th Spring Elections. This the final shootout... The last chance for Wisconsin to halt the complete takeover of our state by the rich and powerful conservative forces aligned against us like the Koch Brothers and the lobbying group Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce.
Please help turn the tide of Republican tyranny by telling your Wisconsin friends and family to VOTE NO on 2015 JR 2 a Constitutional Amendment aimed at usurping Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, and to VOTE FOR the re-election of Justice Ann Walsh Bradley.
If you would like to be of further assistance you can donate to Bradley for Justice or volunteer to help GOTV!
Early voting in Wisconsin is going on now and runs through tomorrow, April 3rd. For information how to vote early click here.
