The one beautiful thing that has come from the Charleston massacre is is that the family members of several of the victims have publicly stated they forgive the shooter (I won't mention his name) and are praying for him, and members of his family are the ones who turned him in by immediately called the cops when they recognized him (and agree with prosecutors' seeking the death penalty). If this young "man" meant to start a war, perhaps his targeting people of devout faith has sparked the opposite. Just about everyone is united in outrage and an outpouring of love for the victims' families. Could this unity prevent an escalation of violence based on race in America? If it does, perhaps - though through horrific tragedy - God might have been answering prayers that night, after all.
