The U.S. Army Special Operations Command said in a March news release the operation Jade Helm 15 will take place in states including Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Colorado that have terrain similar to areas where Special Forces train overseas. Jade Helm will be mostly conducted in remote areas to help develop techniques and tactics for Special Operations warfare overseas. "This exercise is routine training to maintain a high level of readiness for Army Special Operations Forces since they must be ready to support potential missions anywhere in the world at a moment’s notice"
The Texas Reaction: Gov. Greg Abbott called for the Texas State Guard (a State Militia not to be confused with the National Guard) to monitor the mission, since some Texans claimed Jade Helm was in reality going to be a takeover of the Texas government.
Ted Cruz Reaction: “My office has reached out to the Pentagon to inquire about this exercise,” the Texas senator said. “We are assured it is a military training exercise. I have no reason to doubt those assurances, but I understand the reason for concern and uncertainty, because when the federal government has not demonstrated itself to be trustworthy in this administration, the natural consequence is that many citizens don’t trust what it is saying.”
He went on to add that for six years, the federal government has been “disrespecting the liberty of the citizens,” which produces fear and distrust. “You know, I understand a lot of the concerns raised by a lot of citizens about Jade Helm,” he said. “It’s a question I’m getting a lot.”
Suggestion for Ted Cruz: As a Senator you are one of the 2 highest elected federal officials representing Texas. As such to prevent this take over, you should stop all out of state activates, and be prepared on a moment’s notice to be on the steps of the Texas State house to stop any Federal Military takeover by holding up a copy of the constitution and placing your body in front of the invading military.. To do any less than this, you are not true to your words to your fellow Texans.
