As background, to be clear, this diary, (though not intended to single out any one single member, but rather, to single out a disconcerting pattern by a certain contingent of Hillary supporters) was admittedly originally just my comment responding to a series of comments by one particular long standing kossack, a kossack whom I have long respected, and yet, I found their consistent support of Hillary of late using her polls (in spite of her dominant lead slowly slipping) to be rather perplexing, with comments like these three on a diary (Hillary Ditched Obama's No Lobby $ Policy) illuminating Hillary's allegiance to the corporate establishment political machine:
Presumably... all those lobbyists supporting her are skewing the polls in her favor, too.
amirite?
And yet... she's still beating Sanders handily.
LOL... The only polls that matter to certain Sanders supporters are outliers.
I have to ask, doesn't HRC being in the pocket of the corporate oligarchy establishment politics bother you in the least?
Not even a little? From reading your comments today, as well as, over the last 3+ months, it would appear that you
couldn't care less. Don't you care about her silence on TPP, her silence on TBTF/Glass-Steagall, her silence on $15 National Minimum wage, her silence on Keystone XL Pipeline (i.e., triangulating policy rhetoric)... all of which
proves she is in the pocket of the corrupt corporate oligarchy, as if her corporate donor list wasn't proof enough --- that very corporate oligarchy that is poisoning our planet... threatening the very survival of humanity?
Don't you even care? All you seem to care about promoting, or rather,
defending is her inevitability factor because of her heretofore dominant position in the polls, which is slowly slipping. I have to wonder, if you would
or will still be supporting your corporate establishment candidate, if her poll numbers no longer show her as dominant?
Well, however you respond to me today, your true colors and allegiance to the corporate oligarchy will be rather glaringly evident, if you are still supporting her, should the polls no longer show HRC as dominant, which is entirely possible given the early trends we are seeing and as Bernie's message grows through his enthusiastic unprecedented grassroots movement empowered by the internet, and as his rallies (rather effortlessly!) attract larger and larger turnout, whilst Hillary's are dwarfed much like they were in 2008. Her insulated campaign with virtually no open-to-the-public campaign rallies with no open-mike-Q&A sessions is not helping her... makes her appear weak, timid and afraid, much like her silence on TPP and other economic policy issues has. She is obviously afraid of being forced off-script and made to answer those hard questions that her corporate donors don't want her answering. She can't hide forever and her absence on the campaign trail is starting to show since the contrast is rather glaring given how out-in-the-public-light Sanders has been with a slew of open-to-the-public events (with open-Q&A sessions) garnering such inspired attendance. Again, and of most notable import, Bernie's attendance at his rallies was with little-to-no effort and little-to-no time. I have to ask....
#WheresHillary???
I wonder how much time and effort it took to fill that venue on Roosevelt island? On Roosevelt Island? I bet she is deathly afraid of booking open rallies at venues like the ones Bernie has been filling to capacity because of how embarrassing the turnout will be ...would kinda shatter her inevitability myth ...probably tank her campaign overnight. All you seem to want to talk about are the polls as the leading statistical indicator, and yet, I would suggest that attendance at open-to-the-public campaign rallies is far more telling, which is probably why Hillary has had NONE, or was it maybe one? Well, for what it's worth, I suspect Hillary's polls will drop dramatically, when people like you stop supporting her by promoting this sort of inevitability meme using polls, and once (or if) the polls show Bernie neck-and-neck with her, since your only firm ground for promoting her will be gone, because on the liberal progressive economic issues, she is a corporate DINO as everyone knows, and which you seem to desperately want to avoid discussing by pivoting away to bring the discussion back to polls as you have done with these comments. Do you really believe that this "slow" upward trend for Bernie in the polls is gonna somehow stop? Talk about wishful thinking (to quote one of Barney Frank's anti-Bernie memes.) I have to imagine you must, but if the BLM movement's criticism, (about which Bernie is entirely responsive and sincerely sympathetic, especially given his sterling 50+ year track record, unlike Hillary's apparent allegiances) didn't impact his growing popularity, I suspect nothing will. Why do you support HRC? Do you honestly base your support for Hillary on the polls? Is that really your political rudder? Apparently so. Disappointing, rather.
BARACK OBAMA: On the importance of the awakened electorate:
...and after a time, I came to understand that our cherished rights of liberty and equality depend on the active participation of an awakened electorate.
BERNIE - For a Political Revolution: And, by the way, if you think that the Republican Party's refusal to acknowledge that climate change is real, is caused by human activity and is a severe threat to our planet, is not related to how we finance campaigns, you would be sorely mistaken.
