Today on Morning Joe, Donald Trump implied if he was elected he would actively work to imprison Hillary Clinton. I will let you find the moment on the show. The Donald said this election is the fight of her life in more ways than one. Really??
This is 3rd world shit.
The fact is HRC turned over 55,000 relevant work emails. She has already turned over the required emails. "Turned over" isn't even fair wording. She provided them as a matter of public record in an effort to be transparent. She did something no other Sec of State has ever done.
The emails she deleted were personal and perhaps political in nature. Well guess what? Mrs Clinton's personal emails are her own personal business. Her politics are her own personal business. The Republican hate machine has no right to read those emails so they can giggle and snicker at her via leaks to Drudge. None.
Again, Hillary turned over 55,000 work emails. So I ask, why is the Democratic base not stepping to highlight this fact and protect Mrs Clinton? Even if you are a Sanders supporter, there is no reason to allow Mrs Clinton to be vilified like this. She was a fine Sec of State and should be commended for her work, not torn down over a witch hunt designed to destroy the potential first female President.
Hillary kept her emails on a private secure server. Yeah. So what? So did Colin Powell. I don't see the Republicans threatening to throw Gen. Powell in prison. Hillary violated a rule by doing this, not a law, a rule, a guideline, a recommended procedure. She did not violate any laws by housing her emails on a private and secure server. None. That is a fact.
Yet, now I am hearing the leading candidate for the Republican nomination threaten her with prison. This is not America. We don't put our opposition in jail (you are welcome Dick Cheney and Richard Nixon). We transfer power peacefully and with respect.
I hope the Democratic base will awake from it's slumber and come to Mrs Clinton's defense on this. It's time we stop allowing the right wing media and Donald Trump write a prison narrative for our potential nominee. There is far too much at stake, not just for this election but for the nature of how we transfer power in the country.
