Before I resume making entires to this thing, I want to ask one question. This has probably been dealt with already by others, and I don't want to repeat what others have already said. As I understand it there are rather severe restrictions on the amounts that political parties can contribute to the campaigns of their parties' candidates, having to do with soft money versus hard money and other rules. Why is this so? What is the justification for this?
Thu Sep 17, 2015 at 11:34 AM PT: I appreciate the rather condescending comments about what the restrictions on campaign contributions are, but my question was not that. My question was and is what is the justification for the restrictions we have. Why is the amount a PAC or superPAC can contribute to a candidate unrestricted, while contributions from political parties to their candidates are restricted? What is happenings that the PACs are becoming political parties, and the parties are becoming irrelevant. Is this good?
