When giving more info to the public on his health, President Carter once again demonstrated what a great man he is.
As our president he was an honorable man, a statesman, and a patriot. He had the foresight to know that we needed to become energy independent and put in place a plan to get us there by 2012 - a plan that Reagan dismantled when he took office. In order to protect people at the Canadian embassy in Iran, he refused to take credit before the election for his administration's involvement in getting Americans out of Iran after our Embassy was attacked.
Since leaving office, he has lived a life that serves as a model of excellence for us all. He doesn't talk about his faith, his actions everyday demonstrate his faith. He has done great work with Habitat for Humanity here and around the world. His foundation has virtually wiped out the horrors of the guinea worm with education and training. His diplomatic work has served as an example to the world that there are smart, compassionate Americans during a time when we have so many fools in Washington trying to outdo each other with their lunatic rantings. His love and devotion to his wife is obvious in the way they interact with each other.
I don't know how much longer we will have Jimmy Carter in this world, but I do know that the world will be a bit darker when we loose him.
