Donald Trump vs Dick Cheney. Now there's a debate.
The forever wrong neoconservative pundit Bill Kristol cannot abide Republican front-runner Donald Trump. He cannot abide Republican front-runner Donald Trump one bit, to the point that if Donald Trump gets the Republican nod due to the vast sweep of unkempt Republican voters that actually get to decide these things Bill Kristol believes a
real Republican should rise up to run
as a third-party candidate.
"I doubt I'd support Donald. I doubt I'd support the Democrat," Kristol said. "I think I'd support getting someone good on the ballot as a third-party candidate."
Kristol told CNN that he would like to see former Vice President Dick Cheney or Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) run as independents in 2016.
Yes, please.
I'm not even joking. Yes, please, let's have the old stalwart cranks of the Republican Party put up Dick Cheney as their more respectable, decent alternative third-party candidate to Donald Trump. I would donate to this cause. I would put up signage to this cause. Whatever it might take to get Bill Kristol, Dick Cheney, and the other neoconservative pushers of Every Possible War out of the Republican Party and into a third-party run, that is something that every not-neoconservative in America ought to be able to get behind. This may be the best idea Bill Kristol has ever had. This may be the best idea Bill Kristol will ever have. This may be the only good idea to ever escape Bill Kristol's pundit brain in the history of Bill Kristol's pundit brain oozing out half-formed ideas, and if it's only a good idea for reasons Bill Kristol himself cannot quite understand then we won't even hold that against him this time around.
The pro-war, pro-torture, pro-creating-horrific-disasters-via-feats-of-unparallelled-incompetence establishment contingent of the Republican Party declaring that they were fine with all that other stuff, but this boorish Donald Trump fellow is just too much?
Run, Dick, Run.
