Remember how all the Kim Davis advocates were just shilling about the freedom of religion when Kim Davis was arrested "for her religion?" Where are they now?
Now, let's be clear. Davis wasn't arrested for having her religion. I'd guess that there are probably at least 100 million Americans that are against gay marriage. Only one of them ended up in jail. Maybe that's because only one of them thought themselves above the Constitution and used their religion to override a Supreme Court decision.
But now, Ahmed Mohamed, a 14-year-old kid who made a clock gets arrested for just having a different religion. And let's not pretend this about it "looking like a bomb." If that were the case, everything would have been dropped the moment that it was determined it wasn't one.
Racist xenophobes made a snap decision based on paranoia and ignorance, and now they're doubling down on their stupid, because that's what right-wing, bat-crap crazy, paranoid xenophobes do. That's why you see them promoting how the "Second Amendment protects the First" while they protect "Muslim free gun stores."
And what do you hear from the religious right? Where are they protesting that a Muslim was arrested for no other reason than he had a religion that scared ignorant bubble-heads?
Crickets want to know.
Is it really about freedom of religion or freedom of your religion? You can't have one without the other.
