Ted Cruz appeared as the featured speaker at a Kingwood, Texas, tea party rally. It is in my neck of the woods so I attended after a little prodding. Actually I did not need much prodding as I really, really enjoy comedy.
Preceding Cruz's speech were speeches by indicted Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (speech here) and Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick (speech here) as well as Texas Congressman Ted Poe.
Ted Cruz remained on point as he excoriated President Obama and made fun of Hillary Clinton. The atmosphere was that of an evangelical gathering as he came to the defense of gay marriage license denier Kim Davis.
This is a condensation of the major points in his speech with all of the long applause interruption and his side marks removed.
The full speech can be found here.
