Just a quick Woozle pic to share. I'm still trying to work with collaborators to assemble and publish a collection of "Woo Tales" - stories of our dogs (and some cats) over the past 20-odd years. Most of them are true, heartfelt, funny, and amazing. Some are creative fictions building on the anthropomorphic personalities / personas assigned to the various critters, for the purpose of entertainment and remembrance. The stories and images will be identified as whether they are factual or not, for those who are curious. Very few are "creative fictions" - the vast majority are fully fact-based actual accounts. And without further ado -
Below the fold, two more images - one of which has been shared before ("Missy and Mumsie on a cold day") and one that I'd created not long after we'd adopted Oakley, who had to find a new home and came to live with us as Max's adopted brother after several raids on neighbors' chicken coops landed him in deep, hot water...
The picture below is "Missy and Mumsie on a cold day." I posted it as part of the Woo Tales that I'd begun writing while I was the primary care-giver for my mother-in-law. Many people here resonated with the wonderful, true tales of our dogs and how they worked with me as co-caregivers, family members, and dear friends to my wife, mother-in-law, and I as we made our way along the caregiver's journey: Mumsie, my mother-in-law, was a victim of Alzheimer's Disease.
The Woo Tales and care-giving pieces made their way into a care-gving book, which HawkWife & I co-authored with Kossack Shadan7 and his wife. Time moves on, and our pets live much shorter lives than we do...and our family, usually including 2 canines, lost Ember, then gained Oakley. Oakley the devil-dog, scourge of the chicken coop. Oakley the escape artist and adventurer. Oakley the very sweet, very well-mannered Husky-dog - with a dash of action hero & derring-do blended in to spice things up a bit.
When the Woo Tales are collected and ready to publish, I'll let folks here know. In the meantime, feel free to review the ones already posted here with the tag "Woo Tales"... Have a great holiday and start of the week.
