Lindsey Graham dropped out of the Republican presidential primary last month, but his moment has really come now. Yes, he’s endorsing. And the lucky candidate is … Jeb Bush. In a sign of the intense battle for establishment Republican votes (and of Bush’s desperation), Graham’s endorsement could actually be meaningful, though he exited the race with less than one percent support in Iowa and New Hampshire:
His endorsement is a major get for Bush, who has struggled to gain traction in the contest. The former governor is looking to make a South Carolina, along with New Hampshire, a key state in his push for the Republican nomination.
Hey, when you’re trailing Chris Christie and John Kasich in New Hampshire, as Bush is currently doing, you, too, may see the excitement in a Lindsey Graham endorsement. And Graham did have nearly two percent support in South Carolina when he dropped out. Not that an additional two points would vault Jeb all the way up to fourth place in current polling, but every little bit counts, amiright?
