Last night was rough for those of us who share your vision for the country.
As you move West, I hope you’ll look deeper into the heavy corporate influence that has brought us what is erroneously called “education reform,” and see yet another ugly way in which those with money and power force their agenda onto the general population.
This issue has been misrepresented to the people, as have charter schools, even in a recent town hall question posed to you. You have stated that you are against charters that are publicly funded but privately managed… that is the norm. Most are not innovative magnet schools — they are homogenous, regimented, and designed to produce compliant and obedient worker drones, as opposed to the very kind of intellectually unshackled individuals who are your most avid supporters!
Oh, and they most certainly siphon money and resources from real public schools, so you have already stated that you are against them.
