Received this e-mail today from U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D. OH):
The best thing we can do this year to push for progress is elect a Democratic Senate in November. And that starts by making sure strong Democratic candidates have the resources they need to win.
Today, I want to ask you to help two of my friends running for Senate -- Russ Feingold in Wisconsin and Deborah Ross in North Carolina. They’re both facing a big deadline this month: The end of the FEC fundraising quarter, and they could both use a little help. If you can, click here to give them a few dollars.
Russ Feingold
Russ is one of the biggest opponents of Citizens United around. His name is on the last important piece of campaign finance reform that passed Congress. So of course, the special interests are spending a lot of money to make sure he doesn’t make it back to the Senate.
We know how this works -- if we want Russ in the Senate, we have to help him fight back against the attacks and win this race. Can you give $5, $10 or more to help Russ’s team?
Deborah Ross
Down in North Carolina, Deborah has turned her senate race into one of the most competitive in the country. And it’s no wonder -- she is a fantastic advocate for North Carolina families. Polling shows her in a dead heat with her opponent.
But Deborah is facing harsh attacks. Her grassroots team needs our help to keep fighting. If you can, make a contribution to help her out.
I hope that, come January, I’ll have the opportunity to work with Russ and Deborah. Thank you for helping make that possible.
Sherrod
