So apparently it’s “shit on millennials day” on cable TV, or so I’m told (since I don’t watch). Stupid articles like this one are certainly in vogue. This has led to a round of fist shaking at those stupid millennials. Why won’t they get off our lawns?
Except… PPP:
They’re not the only ones that show that kind of lopsided millennial support for Hillary Clinton.

Monmouth:
Clinton leads among millennial voters under 35 years old by 48% to 28% [...] Voters who are 35 to 54 years old split their support at 42% for Trump and 41% for Clinton. Voters age 55 and older are also divided at 47% for Clinton and 46% for Trump.
ABC:
18-39: 51-27, Clinton
40-64: 47-46, Clinton
65+: 53-41, Trump
I could go on, all the polls show the same dynamic. Millennials are, by far, the strongest age demographic for Clinton. It’s not even close! But, what about compared to President Barack Obama? Isn’t she losing them compared to the president?
2008 exit polls, 18-29: Obama 66-32
2012 exit polls, 18-29: Obama 60-37
If anyone has a “millennial problem,” it’s Donald Trump, woefully underperforming the already low bars set by John McCain and Mitt Romney. At worse, Clinton will match Obama’s 2012 numbers, and could even approach those lofty 2012 marks as undecideds shake out alongside their peers. Trump really is that bad, and that toxic among young voters.
So really, if you’re going to shit on any generation for their voting habits this cycle, you best not be looking at the youngsters. If it was up to them, Trump would be far in the fringes of American society (competing with Gary Johnson for third place).
