I don’t get it; did you see the Big Short? How can you not be mad as hell and suspicious of anyone who takes donations from Wall Street? Do you think Wall Street is giving money to Hillary to save health care? Save kids ability to get a college education? Save the environment? Really what do you think they expect for their contribution? Or do you say “Oh they all do it that’s just what politicians need to do to get elected these days”. And you may argue Wall Street is really motivated to assure a strong economy and a strong America. But what is their definition of a strong economy? One that has the ability to bail them out the next time their teenage behavior drives our future into the toilet? Will THAT bail-out be the final blow to an affordable college education? I sure as hell know there is a direct correlation in the rise of my kids college tuition to what happened to my states coffers following the fleecing of the tax payer. Thank you Wall Street and those that were supposed to regulate.
We have a candidate who has stood up for the average guy all his life. One who makes decisions based on the good of all not those at the top. Look at Bernie’s net worth, he is not in this for the money. Sometimes I think the problem with folks seeing what’s good for them is their need to understand math. I have an easy math story problem to share, no really its easy. I was at the zoo with my son, we were looking at a model describing the cycle of water, evaporation, clouds, rain etc. My mind clicked if money were water we are looking at a country with pockets of reservoirs, huge reservoirs, but they are covered, sheltered. Any minuscule trickle of evaporation occurring is made up for by the strong flow continually filling their swelling masses. And as water flows into these reservoirs they don’t burst they just stretch, occasionally they seep into holding tanks held in other countries to protect from any potential leakage. As more and more water fills these reservoirs less and less is available for streams and lakes. Pretty soon there isn’t enough evaporation to sustain rain and we dry up. Now we do live in odd times where we can “print more water” but that can’t be done forever. Get the picture? Pretty soon all the water is in the holding tanks and we die from dehydration. Don’t get me wrong I am an American, I do believe if you work hard, invent unique valuable things you should have the ability to prosper more than your lazy neighbor. But you aren’t allowed to hoard the water, you aren’t allowed to choke out your country. You aren’t allowed to tap your neighbor’s water line and suck out his water source no matter how lazy he is, he is a human being. Even lazy people have redeeming qualities, you know them, they might be your kid, or your boss. Or do we just kill lazy people? Like cops kill black kids in the street? I digress that’s another item of extreme concern but one aggravated by poverty, low wages it’s all part of the bigger picture.
The vast majority of rich people don’t care and some don’t get it. We are living in a land of two worlds those with their head in the sand and those with their eyes wide open. And frankly having your eyes wide open is scary, it’s easier to grab a beer, go see the game, read 50 shades of grey and vote for someone who says she’ll get things done because she’s pragmatic. Well if pragmatic is taking money from Wall Street, opposing single payer, opposing the re-in statement of Glass-Steagall, opposing free college education, opposing a 15$ minimum wage then by all means be pragmatic. But ask yourself if Ms. Clinton opposes these things and takes money from Wall Street what exactly will she compromise away with Congress? Bernie plans to use the bully pulpit to get things done, it’s the only thing we have left. Personally I don’t understand why people think the Congress that would NOT work with Obama would work with a CLINTON? Really a Clinton? Think about it, maybe you can catch a glimpse of those reservoir’s as you pull your head out of the sand, the country needs your courage!
