The United States Trade Representative (USTR) is allowing comments on the Trans-Pacific Trade Parthership until January 13th. I have provided the link below and I urge everyone to express their concerns and their thoughts.
I vehemently oppose this agreement. Vehemently. Along with over 2,000 advocacy groups including every single union in the country, Dr. Robert Reich, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, Doctors Without Borders and many others.
The ISDS provision alone is enough to generate a huge outcry. It would allow corporations to sue a country over "expected" profits if they/we pass a law that they think could negatively impact their bottom line. Like environmental laws, like worker safety protection provisions, like food safety I personally did not vote for any ISDS and as they already run far too much of the country, I'm not about to give them all of the pie.
This is not really a trade agreement...this is just another big corporate giveaway. Again, please express whatever thoughts you may have about this as well as contacting your senators/reps. Below, I have also provided links to articles which explain the TPP and its hazards more in depth.
Enough gutting of the middle class...here and around the world. Speak out. Thank you
