Although this was all legal, this Virginia man’s protest was frightening for the staff and volunteers at Jane Dittmar's Palmyra (VA-05) congressional campaign office. Virginia resident Daniel Parks, who says he served in the military, stood outside for 12 hours, staring into the office and intimidating campaign volunteers:
"I'm just trying to provide a voice for someone who might be a closet supporter of trump. Other people who are a little worried to speak out because of possible persecution," he said.
Trump supporters being persecuted? Mocked? Yes. Persecuted? No. And he says he was there protesting Hillary Clinton, standing up for Donald Trump, so it’s unclear why he chose Jane Dittmar Palmyra’s congressional campaign office—other than the fact she also has a Clinton-Kaine sign in the window.
And why make sure everyone sees he’s carrying a deadly weapon? Something, something, “ignorance breeds fear.”
Parks said that his firearm is legal, and that he had no ill intention by carrying it.
"We're not a threat to anybody, the only threat is ignorance, and ignorance breeds fear," he said.
Okay, the guy who is so fearful that he has to walk around with a gun on his hip is saying the “only threat is ignorance.” Daniel, get a mirror already. It’s unclear what he hoped to accomplish other than intimidation, but congrats on intimidating a group of women volunteering to help get Jane Dittmar Palmyra elected.
