OK, we (almost) all agree on that. But the enterprise that produces these experimental life forms is still functioning. Its COO, Paul Ryan is already preparing an improved version of this single-cell organism without its self-destruct capability. We will surely see this rolled out for the next election cycle. In the meantime, Ryan will ensure that his the market dominance of his enterprise (formerly known as GOP, but since those initials have acquired new meaning we will call it by a more generic “Washington Company” or WaCo for short) doesn’t diminish before then.
So while it’s certainly important to insure that the Trumpmoeba doesn’t slither into the WH, it’s just as important to diminish WaCo’s market domination.
To drastically shift metaphors here, this is what a “political revolution” consists of. It’s of course absolutely essential to get Hillary in the WH. But without a committed base willing to support her, nothing will happen. And there are specific things that need to be addressed, especially taking on the gerrymandering of political districts: Obama, Holder to lead post-Trump redistricting campaign.
In any case, I think it’s important to shift the focus away from how disgusting Trump is to how awful Paul Ryan and his so-called “moderates” are. These “moderates” include my district’s Erik Paulsen, and unfortunately according to the latest poll released yesterday, Erik Paulsen is ahead of his challenger Terri Bonoff by 49% to 38%. To make matters worse, in another Minnesota district, creepy Stewart Mills is challenging Rick Nolan.
So enough on the Trumpmoeba. Let's not lose sight of the real prize: Congress. There’s a real struggle ahead.
