Do you notice that everything Trump says can be interpreted in one of two ways? Liberals hear the parts that enrage them, and conservatives hear the parts that console them. Neither hears nor understands the part that engages the other. Talking Heads on TV on the two sides of the divide don't seem to appreciate what animates the other; it is like they're speaking two different languages. I see genuine puzzlement in their faces sometimes when they listen to each other. Trump gives everyone what they're looking for.
Trump is Mephistopheles, the father of lies. Like a cunning ruthless animal he is, but a wounded animal is very, very dangerous. Trump has nothing to lose now but his brand, the source of his diminishing empire. Wounded animals sometimes are more prone to fall into traps, but they will defend their babies (in this case, the Trump brand) to the death.
Tonight will be interesting. I think he will attack not only Hillary and Bill but also the Republican establishment. His modus operandi will be to divide, Hillary supporters from Bernie supporters, the deplorables from establishment Republicans, and of course the left from the right. The townhall format is not conducive to the kind of attack he will levy, so he may run roughshod over it. Keep in mind as you listen that he frames everything he says to inflame the left and seduce his followers. I think he's trying to foment civil unrest, but that is another diary.
