I don’t have a lot to say about this all yet, mostly expletives, but I have to say that Van Jones at least in this case speaks for many of us as he stand ups to Kayleigh McEneny and Jeffrey Lord’s predictable white-splaining of Trump’s horrific campaign of open bigotry, xenophobia, fear-mongering and hatred.
It’s has consequences.
And those consequences include many thousands of people pouring into the streets in protest of Tuesday election results when America elected it’s first Domestic Terrorist President. It’s truly a worthwhile moment to listen to.

The conversation started with Cooper asking how the country would have reacted had Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton won instead. “Divided America before. Divided America during. Divided America after. That’s where we are,” Jones explained.
Jones discussed how Americans of color, Latinos, Muslims, the black community are terrified of Trump’s win, especially based on his campaign rhetoric.
McEnany tried to tell Jones how no one should be “stoking fears” in Americans, how people are terrified of Trump’s presidency because of the way the media portrayed him.
“That’s enough,” Jones cut in. “Now hold on a second. Muslim parents that are afraid right now aren’t afraid because of these kids with these signs. They are afraid because he said over and over again he wanted to ban people of their faith.”
You want to explain to me why people who are scared shouldn’t be afraid,” Jones said, as McEnany pleaded over and over that he has to “correct that fear” in people.
“Back off,” Jones shot back. “You need to have a little bit of empathy and understanding for people who are afraid because your candidate has been one of the most explosively provocative candidates in the history of our country and there is a price to be paid for that.”
As McEnany once again tried to cut him off, Jones retorted, “I am not going to be talked over tonight. I’m not. You have people who are terrified and you have to take some responsibility for it.”
Now after a bit Kayeigh had her chance to come back and she ultimately praised President Obama and the Clinton campaign for calling out to unity. Fine. She then went on to argue that people should be responsible and not spread false inflammatory rumors about Donald Trump and his agenda.
Uh huh. Ok.
So it was perfectly alright for Donald Trump to claim black people would “get shot” as soon as they walk out their front door?
So it was perfectly OK for Donald Trump to claim every Muslim is somehow complicit in domestic and international terrorism?
So it was perfectly alright for Donald Trump to advocate for Torture? To call for murdering the innocent families of suspected terrorists? To say all Muslims should be banned? To say that Mexicans are Rapists and Criminals? That is big plan on the border is to reimplement something that was originally called “Operation:Wetback” To insult, demean and confess to groping women?
It was perfectly OK for him to claim that the twice dully elected President of the United states was a foreigner. Was somehow in league with ISIS? Is Incompetent?
People are supposed to talk fucking responsibly now? NOW we have to be fucking CIVIL!??
Jesus and Mary on a Crutch!
Donald Trump is a Hate-monger. Period. Nit picking on whether he mentioned “internment camps” after 8 years of right-wing bullshit about “FEMA Camps” and “Jade Helm 16” and fucking “DEATH PANELS” — is not credible coming from those people.
If Hillary had won would there be right-wing people protesting in the streets? You damn straight there would be those people were called the FRACKING TEA PARTY!
Somehow when those people go fracking balliistic over made up paranoid bullshit, it’s perfectly ok. But when other Americans go out to protest the election of a man who is flat-out unfit, not based on fantasies of what we think he might do or things he never did or said, but based ON. HIS. OWN. BIGOTED. IGNORANT. WORDS. — somehow we have to all calm down now and be “Civil?”
Frack that shit.
Trump himself, with his own statements, has been the one to stokes these fears. HE DID IT HIMSELF. The responsibility is on HIM to implement plans and actions that would allay these fears.
I frankly don’t think he’s up to it.
I don’t think he has the heart, or the class, or the integrity — because he’s done nothing but show a complete lack of all the above. That’s not who he is and he’s proven that to everyone paying attention over the last 19 months. It’s been him. And if that is who he is, he’s been keeping it a secret, and when he reveals that how much of the alt-Right/Tea Bagger crowd is he going to be willing to piss off?
Not that many I would suspect.
In response to Kayleigh, Van made an astute point.
They’ve become what they fought They sat up here for a year and a half and said “people are crying out, ant they’re not being listened too, people are crying out and they are not being listened to by the elites.” I am not spreading rumors about internment camps, I’m tellilng you that is a real feel — I’m fighting against it. You can’t brush this off when it’s real.
And then Jeffrey Lord got into it.
Van, Van, we’ve had this conversation before. You can not spend 200 years, 200 years marinating in the racism of the Democratic Party, I’m sorry, and the left dividing people by group. The other day you sat on this set and talked about White, Blacklash — Whitewash — and the point is your dividing White people the same way that you’re dividing Black people. You are not treating people as individual Americans, and that’s the problem.
Which of course is total horseshit when Trump himself goes around with “Look at my African-American over there...” and “The Latinos love me”. He himself doesn’t treat us all as individual Americans and that’s what started this entire issue. The call for color-blindness is a call for color ignorance where discriminators — like Trump was sued for twice — get to do their dirty work in the dark without the prying eyes of justice horning in to stop it.
The racist Democrats Lord is talking about LEFT THE PARTY when Harry Truman desegregated the Military, they became the Dixiecrat and ran their Presidential nominee, Strom Thurman , against Truman and Dewey. Strom later became a Republican, as did many of the bigoted conservative southern constituents of the Dixiecrat party. That history is long over for Democrats, but Lord loves to pretend when it suits him that it’s still 1956. In fact, that’s probably the “Great America” Trump is eager to return to with mass deportation, regular gay bashing, uppity women knowing their place and keeping their knees together until daddy gives them the high hard one.
We know who these people are, they tell us all the time. And so Lord continued….
These [protestors] are 1960’s wannabes. They’re nowhere close to the original.
See there, that’s how seriously these people take your concerns. That how they listen to what you have to say. That’s how they “bring America together” — but dismissing and demeaning you.
Again.
This is what we have to expect, but then it’s pretty much exactly what I would have expected from these boot-lickers.
Hit the streets. Make it loud.
But we do need to take a page from the Tea Party and also infiltrate the infrastructure of the parties. Frankly both parties, but I’ll settle for infesting and taking over any one of them. Trump said he had a movement? Fine, we have a movement of our own and we’re not going to take America back… we’re taking it Forward.
Trump is just a temporary detour, a speed bump, in accomplishing that goal.
