Have you watched the news lately? If you did, you’d see mass demonstrations in cities all over our country. They’re protesting because according to the Electoral College, Trump won the presidential election, even though Clinton won the popular vote. This is the second time this has happened. Both times it benefited the Republican candidate. Al Gore lost to George W. Bush for the same reason in 2000.
If you watched the news you’d have also seen students of Mexican heritage being taunted to go back to Mexico by their classmates.
African Americans are being told to go back to Africa.
You’d also see that the KKK (Ku Klux Klan) is planning to have a victory parade to celebrate Trumps victory.
Then there’s Muslim women being taunted and in some cases having their head scarfs torn off.
Nazi symbols are being painted on walls in many places, including a Muslim prayer center.
For the senior “Patriots” the news isn’t too good either. Now that the Republicans control both the house and senate along with the presidency, house speaker Paul Ryan will finally probably get his plans for Medicare and Social Security in place. He plans to privatize them. Medicare will become a voucher program with no guarantees. If your vouchers aren’t large enough to pay for a private policy, you will have to pay the difference yourself. Social Security will be like 401K plans with no guarantees either. Tell that to your children and grandchildren.
Climate change deniers will hold positions of power so there goes any effort for a cleaner environment.
Finally, did you hear about how the Russians celebrated when they learned that Trump had won? Does that tell you anything?
This list could get a lot longer, but I think you get the idea.
Is this the America that you “patriots” want? Do you think that this is what America stands for? Actually it’s disgraceful. Many Americans are going to get hurt, especially those that voted for Trump. There’s an old saying to “Beware of what you wish for”. For now it looks like you got your wish. Hopefully it won’t last for long and hopefully you’ll learn from this.
