Hillary Clinton won the popular vote.
By virtue of that fact and because the vote shows our nation is clearly divided on who and how the country is led, there must be a Democrat(s) in the current President-elects’ cabinet.
If the tables were turned and Clinton had won the Electoral College but lost the popular vote, you can bet republicans and their media surrogates would be screaming non-stop for a republican in a Clinton Cabinet.
Let’s push hard for this. Yes, it will be tough to accomplish. But, the push will also help to keep pressure and sunlight on who is selected for the cabinet, and it will serve to continue to help galvanize those organizing and protesting around the current President-elect. It would be an opportunity for him to show all Americans that his heart is in the right place and that he wants to serve and represent all Americans. That he wants to compromise and make deals, as he’s said before. If he is reasonable, he will select a Democrat(s) for a position in the cabinet. Labor? Defense? Interior? Ed? State?
