The group plans to also drop $3.2 million into Florida, an effort to shore up Sen. Marco Rubio's position in a race where he holds a slight lead over Democratic challenger Rep. Patrick Murphy, Steven Law, head of the Senate Leadership Fund, told CNN.
That's what leadership does to try to secure a majority. Sen. Chuck Schumer has the biggest war chest around, more than $17 million on hand in his combined campaign and leadership PAC funds as of two weeks ago. It wouldn't be too hard for him to match McConnell's generosity to #RetireRubio.
