This poll would explain a lot. The Clinton campaign must have good internals.
Dispatch Poll: Clinton-Trump race too close to call in Ohio
As the bitter 2016 presidential campaign lurches into its final crucial days, the nation’s leading bellwether state remains ripe for plucking by either side, the Dispatch Poll found. The survey shows Democrat Hillary Clinton leading by 1 point, 48 percent to 47 percent, over Republican Donald Trump heading into the final days of the raucous race.
Since that figure is well within the poll’s margin of sampling error (plus or minus 2.9 points), get-out-the-vote efforts will be especially important this year.
With more potential good news:
As expected, Clinton is winning among those who said they already have voted, holding a 10 point advantage. Four years ago, President Barack Obama’s lead in early voting was key, because he lost to Mitt Romney among votes cast on Election Day in the state.
Both sides have put strong emphasis on the early voting period, which ends Monday. The poll showed that 36 percent of voters already had cast their ballot when they filled out the survey, and 11 percent said they still planned to do so before Election Day. If those figures even come close to playing out, they would smash all records.
Ted Strickland remains a lost cause, down 21 points.
EDIT: Hello Rec List, it’s been a while. (#1!)
