Nate Cohn from Upshot tweeted this AM some final Early Vote today-
Compared to 2012
Turnout was 2.7 million
In 2012- Democratic votes were 48%, Republicans were 32%
This discrepancy in registered D versus registered Republicans may be due to decreased Democratic Registration since 2012
there’s a pretty straightforward reason for that: The number of registered Democrats in North Carolina has declined since 2012. The number of registered Republicans has ticked up.
Over all, the number of registered Democrats has declined by 5.1 percent.
Point is- one could have looked at 2012 and seen Obama up +16% in early voting.. and he lost NC.
