OK — we know the feeling — we felt it, to lesser extent, when W was selected twice. I admit to still being in shock. But there are advantages (and disadvantages) to having a degree in history — we’ve seen this before.
1) The economy is going to go in the toilet, and that toilet bis going to back up all over the floor. The world economy will follow. It took years to recover from the W years, and this will be much worse. And with the loss of SS, ACA and Medicare, expect a plunge we haven’t seen in the northern hemisphere since you had to take wheelbarrows of marks to buy a loaf of bread. Old folks will die, and poor folks will be eliminated by the simple fact of having no support at all.
2) Purges, Putsches, and Pogroms. The crime rate will skyrocket, partly because nobody will be able to afford work, and partly because the thugs will be out in force, backed by the politicians. Open carry will be common, and it will be used to beat down those who disagree.
3) Good bye, civil rights. We’ve all seen the list of sociopaths Trump has put forward for the Supreme Court, and the long list of vacancies in lower courts will be filled in no time at all. I also expect the wobblers in various courts to be driven out by one means or another. And if you think the next was creepy before, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Kosssacks — be prepared to be doxxed and harrassed. You know they type that hangs on Breitbart and Storm Front — they will get your personal information.
4) War. Guaranteed within 2 years, likely within one. Nukes are not unlikely, once the military leadership has been ‘cleansed’. Civil war is not out of the realm of possibility. Europe will likely follow — they usually do — and within a couple of years, other dictators will be elected in some Euro zone countries.
If you think the W years were bad, you ain’t seen nothing yet.
