I supported Hillary Clinton for a variety of reasons. She is highly qualified having been a First Lady, US Senator and Secretary of State. She has always been loyal to the Democratic Party, getting behind then Senator Obama after losing a tough primary campaign. She is very intelligent, able to talk comprehensively on issues better than any politician I’ve known. She’s a woman, something that’s been lacking in the White House since the beginning of our country. I agree with her on most of the issues. Etc., etc., etc…
Regardless of my reasons, they are just that: MY reasons. I supported her over Sanders and O’Malley because I preferred her as a candidate. And I enthusiastically voted for her in the general election. I did my part to get my candidate elected.
I know that many of you Bernie supporters wish that I’d seen things your way and supported him in the primary. But I didn’t. And I would support Clinton again even knowing what I know now. I vote for the candidates I like, not the candidates I think can win. So you can whine and bitch about what could have been. The fact is, my candidate came a hell of a lot closer to the Oval Office than yours. In fact, she came closer to the Presidency than any woman in the history of our country, and I couldn’t feel prouder to have supported her.
Now excuse me while I take leave of this cesspool of “I told you so.” It’s not my fault that your candidate lost in the primaries.
