Campaign Action
On Monday, 10 members of the Electoral College—nine Democrats and one Republican—sent a letter to the Director of National Intelligence to request a briefing on “whether there are ongoing investigations into ties between Donald Trump, his campaign or associates, and Russian government interference in the election.” And now the Clinton campaign is weighing in:
Hillary Clinton’s top political adviser John Podesta said the campaign is supporting an effort by members of the Electoral College to request an intelligence briefing on foreign intervention in the presidential election.
“The bipartisan electors' letter raises very grave issues involving our national security,” Podesta said in a statement Monday. “Electors have a solemn responsibility under the Constitution and we support their efforts to have their questions addressed.”
Given how chapped Donald Trump already is by losing the popular vote by millions, this should make his head explode. Stay tuned.
