Last night many of you heard Rachel explain how Rex Tillerson pursued policies in Iraq and Chad that went against United States polices and interests. He was President Tillerson with his own private country called EXXON, with its own foreign policy based on greed. If he did what he did, or tried to do, in Russia he’d probably be in the Gulag. In China, he’s probably be disappeared.
This morning we discover that Trump National Security Adviser Flynn ‘Inappropriately’ Shared Classified Info In Afghanistan. Again, this would end him up in a cauldron of boiling oil trouble in totalitarian countries.
Then we have Putin, friend of Trump and Tillerson, and who knows who else, in the coming Trump administration. This morning we hear what UN Ambassador Samantha Power had to say to them at the United Nations yesterday about the killing of civilians in Aleppo: “Is there literally nothing that can shame you?”
There’s another Kurt Eichenwald bomblet that should be a bombshell, once more a cover story: HOW DONALD TRUMP'S BUSINESS TIES ARE ALREADY JEOPARDIZING U.S. INTERESTS.
And the next president, the shallow, quick to take offense, conspiracy believing, fact-challenged, and uncurious president-elect, we have Trump himself. He can’t waste his time with security briefings from our best intelligence experts; but he can find time to meet with some guy named Kanye West and some aged sports figures who happen to be black. A coincidence? I don’t think so.
Every day those of us who watch MSNBC and read liberal websites like Daily Kos, and consider the New York Times, the Washington Post, Time, and Newsweek to be credible news sources find ourselves like the Roman legionaries in the photo, armed with our spears, javelins, crossbows, and swords; but we’re standing there with no-one to defend ourselves against.
We are trying our damnest to defend the country, the entire country minus about 1%, and there are times we feel like we are banging our heads against an unyielding wall of indifference and denial.
We are armed with powerful words, sharp minds, and deadly facts; but what good do they do when we are attempting to save half a population that doesn’t even believe they are in jeopardy?
