For our final Monday evening together I have something special to share. The other day a slip of paper rose to the surface of the little pile of scraps of paper on my computer desk. It was something a spiritual teacher I worked with earlier this year told me when we were talking on the phone. I had her repeat it so I could write it down, “The movement towards nourishment is the greatest service to the One.” She shared this with me as I navigated my way through some troubling times intending it for my use as I figured out, again and again, just where to step next.
It was good advice then, and it is good advice now. If we make nourishment our guide in life we will always be moving towards the highest purpose. Let me be clear, this is not the artificial type of nourishment that results in eating a half pound of chocolate in response to a sweet tooth, or indulging in self righteousness because it feels good for a moment. This is speaking to a deep personal nourishment arising from responding to a deep calling from within. Last year I wrote a post about seeking your internal YES and these two, your internal YES and nourishment, are related.
Let nourishment be your motivation in your spiritual practice, in your day to day living, and in your activism; you will always be working towards the highest good.
Thank you to davehouck and thanatokephaloides who shared hosting duties, and thank you to everyone who participated in any way in these Monday evenings over the three years we’ve been practicing together. Thank you all for making this such a rewarding experience.
To start us off tonight I’m sharing this classic video, which is a little over three minutes long and offers some wonderful advice for life that fits with our theme of nourishment.
Now, go out there everyone and dance like no one is watching! :-)
