Thank goodness that a red-state Democrat won, somewhere, somehow (NC).
I knocked 2K doors for Hill in the Primary, and 8.5K doors in the GE. So, John Gregg and Evan Bayh lost (there was little chance for Hill here in Indiana — I know that not just from the polls, but also from my personal experience in ‘08 for PBO).
The red states are places where there seems to be little government, other than privatization (crony capitalism), and the erasure of rights. Unfortunately, our VP-Elect quite likely was tempted to make common cause with the Orange Menace due to the long-standing “FIre Mike Pence” movement here in Indiana. Oh, **ck, our shame has now gone national.
We didn’t do enough to stop Pence here in Indiana. And if you don’t know that what means, you’ll find out soon enough (sorry, Union People, GLBTQ folks, and a lot of other people know what that means).
While I respect the Bernie Canvassers, it seems that none of them were around for the GE.
I’m not sure what we do about that, here in the red states.
All I can say is that I’m old but not dead. IDP (Indiana Democratic Party) will rise again in the next election. Perhaps some things should be done between those times.
I am entirely aware that many folks on this site believe that they can retreat into their ‘safe’ Blue States. That’s just not true, you blue-state folks are not aware of just how bad things can get.
It really is time for “all good folks” to come to the “aid of the party.” See poll.
