Ain’t it great when bad things happen to bad people? Let’s recap.
1) Cliven Bundy was arrested and now faces 42 years in prison. Yup. Your ass is ours Bundy! So are your sons. Dumbasses are now in custody and the people of Oregon can finally enjoy the extraordinary beauty of the Malheur preserve without being threatened by domestic terrorists.
2) Antonin Scalia is dead. That's right, he's still dead. There has been no change in his condition. As dead as the thousands of Iraqi civilians who were killed by the George W. Bush administration after Scalia declined to allow vote counts to continue in 2000. Other Democratic politicians have been far more gracious and polite in describing this shitball’s legacy but I’m not so kind. Believe me that Scalia would not have been nearly so diplomatic had it been Sonia Sotomayor or the notorious RBG who had passed away suddenly. Meanwhile Mitch McConnell has vowed to block President Obama’s constitutional right as a sitting president to nominate another Supreme Court justice. Such a blatant act of disrespect means poison for GOP chances to retain control of the Senate next year. Oh, and women’s health issues which were set for the chopping block this year. And abortion rights, labor unions, and religious tolerance get a new lease on life now that the court is tied 4-4.
3) The GOP frontrunner is threatening a third-party run. Again. Which would mean poison for GOP chances of the GOP winning the White House this year. Or even worse, the GOP front runner could actually win the GOP nomination. And how is the GOP frontrunner polling against Hillary Clinton? Not well. Hello ten-point lead! And how is the GOP frontrunner polling against Bernie Sanders? Even worse. Hoo boy, things are not going well for the GOP! Which means that things are going very well indeed for the American people.
That has been your schadenfreude for the day. Happy Tuesday!
