I was just reading the diary about the fundraiser for HRC with Blackstone today. I remember Blackstone well. I followed the meltdown of the subprime mortgage crisis closely, because it affected a lot of my friends who lost their homes. Blackstone bought up all the properties and then leased them back to evicted people. Boogie men. Here is a little info on them from a page they manage themselves:

It is snowy here, and in one thread, I had the following dismal but ultimately uplifting thought: “As I was driving today, it really sunk in: Bernie is totally right. We are owned now by these big banks and financial firm. If Bernie poses a threat, they get Bloomberg to step in. This is not about the DNC or the GOP. It is about big capital. It gives us an illusion that we run things. We do not. The DNC knows this. The GOP knows this. This whole little fight of ours and these primaries? They are for our entertainment, much like sports teams. But guess what? We have a leader now. This is, as one diarist posted, the battle for our democracy. I am putting my shoulder to the wheel. “
I have thought there should be rules against using the front pages of Kos for fundraising, and yesterday, I saw a diary about Madame President day, and I thought, well maybe not.
To be sure, this is a news diary. here in my little house, with the roof leaking and dinner on the stove and me thinking about filling out my tax forms (I pay my taxes), I am having a fundraiser for Bernie. I am calling on any of us who know someone affected by the subprime mortgage crisis and the actions of firms like Blackstone to go to Berniesanders.com and give a few bucks. I will post in my first comment how much I can afford to give right now. Let’s see what happens.
