Seriously; the coronation by national black democratic leaders for Hillary is just over the top. It’s disgusting how far they have gone out of their way to protect their power. What’s even worse is how the media coordinates this overly false sense of power; through misrepresenting reality about anyone that opposes their political investments.
There is such an internal fear from the power democrats that many smaller liberal factions would break for Bernie; that the Black Establishment is now in overdrive. And in Democratic identity politics; blacks who vote go with the establishment candidate. (Unless it’s 2008). As a side note, I’ve worked on both of Obama’s campaigns, I’m in the JPAS Security Clearance system & know people that have worked with/under Clinton. I mentioning this because of my insights to the entire power-brokered process.
My picture above is my sarcasm & belief that most politicians are lying assholes on so many subjects. Having an economics/analytics background; I understand the vast structural improvements made under Obama. However; in this newest election cycle (should be an election term because they never end) the bullshit storm is in full drive by Obama, Hillary, & everyone in power on both sides.
Politically speaking; Hillary’s presidential (Clinton’s! Bill & Hillary) African American support is an area of mass confusion to both white & hispanic progressives alike. This is especially true with all my family/friends in New England (Connecticut) that are ( mostly White/Hispanic-college educated) whom are of all political leanings, but mostly lean very liberal (non-religious). Pretty much the New Hampshire exit polling where Bernie wins men by (67% to 32%) mirrors my environment. Since December; I haven’t seen one Hillary bumper sticker outside NYC where as I’ve seen at-least 250 Sanders ones on the roads.
-----The only Hillary supporters I know fall into three categories (1- Older liberal males that believe Bernie gets crushed in the general 2- Tolerate Hillary because they think her legislation would get passed & Sanders wouldn’t get passed 3- Bernie would raise taxes too high (capital gains/etc). My father fits all 3 categories 100%, but my mother whose for Bernie thinks Hillary is the second most intolerable (unethical) pol alive to Trump. (He’s an in intolerable category all by himself)--—.
I’ve really had to do research on why African Americans aren’t being swayed the broader progressive economic message by Sanders. With my circle; they consensus mostly is we DON’T TRUST Hillary & view her as bought out by her billion dollar enterprise. However, there is definitely is an incredible level of personalization taken by black voters when Bernie attacks Hillary on any matter; regardless of how warranted they are. Folks in the southern African American communities almost view the targets on them the same as when Sanders surrogates attack Hillary for playing the gender/sexism card (at such an outrageous level).
This negative emotion is not nearly taken on the same level with other races. My hispanic friends/family supporting Sanders have a much greater level of optimism about him. They are generally disgusted by the transparent level of black identity politics played by Democrats. Democratic Blacks who vote tend to be more in line with establishment Democratic politics.
In the end, I truly believe & see with the data there is strong bias against a quasi old-ass Jewish (quasi) non-religious politician by southern blacks. It definitely seems to be more apparent than not; when Hillary’s new ad narrated by Morgan Freeman starts with an image of a church. As an atheist; I find the pandering with Hillary over the top in recent weeks. Her black college education plan, Immigration first 100 days last night, & many more. I’m curious to what people think how true my thoughts are on this race.
