Bernie stepped up to lead the response to Hillary’s then-impending glide path to the nomination,
after the following people (and every other leading Progressive voice) chose not to run (each with good reason):
-
E Warren: Needs more seasoning in campaigning
-
R Feingold: Needs to rehabilitate reputation as a campaigner
-
R Wyden: Seems to have gone Beltway-native on TPP
-
M Udall: Backed down on the Security State cover-up, & lost first re-election in Purple state
-
B Lee: Running from House always harder; especially from “Berkeley” (though mainly Oakland)
-
K Ellison: Hard enough to be the only Muslim in Congress
-
R Grijalva: Hard to run from the far Latino end of a Republican-dominated state
-
S Cohen: He has had the career that DK’s BrooklynBadBoy said that Bernie Sanders should have had. I welcome anybody to explain to me how Cohen would have done better than Sanders in 2015-16 against Hillary Clinton.
-
D Edwards: If we get her into the US Senate in 2016, she hits all BBB’s (and my) buttons to be on the ticket in 2020 — either as the Veep of a sufficiently Progressive President Hillary, or as a challenger to an insufficiently Progressive Hillary or Republican. — There is still an hour left to donate!
