The Chicago Tribune just reported that Donnell Flora, the uncle of the 16-year-old charged with murdering 14-year-old Endia Martin has received a sentence of 100 years in prison for supplying the gun used to his niece.
The niece is currently awaiting trial. She has been charged as a juvenile.
According to the Tribune, Cook County Judge Thaddeus Wilson said, “There is no excuse or rationalization for giving a child a gun to take to a ridiculous fight about a boy — none.”
Flora was convicted in January of charges of first-degree murder, attempted murder and aggravated battery. He was sentenced today.
Flora is paralyzed from the waist down as the result of being shot in 2010.
