To everyone out there who opposes racism, bigotry, hatred, and divisiveness, or just plain hates Donald Trump:
With Donald Trump poised to become the Republican candidate for President, it is time to put aside all of our other differences. If you are a Democrat, it is time to stop arguing about whether Hillary Clinton is too mainstream or Bernie Sanders is too radical. If you are a Republican who doesn't support Trump, it is time to stop arguing about whether the other candidates are horrible for whatever reasons you think they are horrible (sorry, I don't follow the Republicans well enough to provide details the way I can with the Democrats).
It is time to face the reality that we will all, Democrats and Republicans, Millennials and Old Fogies, need to unite behind whoever wins the Democratic Primary so that Donald Trump does not become the next President of the United States.
To Sanders supporters:
I know that Clinton doesn't speak to you. I know that you see her as not very different from Trump.
Clinton may not be perfect according to your standards. Maybe you see her as having some of the same attributes as Trump. Or maybe her connections to the mainstream and to Wall St seem overwhelming. But PLEASE try to look at things in shades of grey, not just in black and white (Please, no jokes about 50 Shades, and no, I'm not talking about races. If you don't understand that, please stop reading because you clearly will never get what I'm trying to say).
I know that many of you have vowed to not vote in the main election if Sanders doesn't win the Primary. But please, PLEASE, think very carefully about that. Please think beyond the issues that separate Sanders and Clinton. Look at the issues that separate Clinton and Trump.
Look at what Trump is saying, doing, and promising. Do you want to live in a country defined by racism, bigotry, hatred, and divisiveness and led by a bully? If you don't vote in the main election, your inaction may lead to exactly that.
To Clinton supporters:
I know that Sanders seems too radical to you. I know that you may think his talk of revolution will make him ineffective if elected.
Sanders may not be perfect according to your standards. Maybe you see him as a nut job. Or maybe his label as a Socialist seems overwhelming. But PLEASE try to look at things in shades of grey, not just in black and white (See prior comment)

To Republicans:
I know that Clinton and Sanders are Democrats. I know the idea of pulling a Blue lever will feel like betraying your Party. But what's more important - your Party, or your Country?
I know you might prefer to not vote at all than to vote Democrat. But if you don't vote Democrat in the main election, you may be handing the Country to Donald Trump.
Look, Republicans, I have a confession to make. I'm a Massachusetts Democrat. No, that's not the confession. The confession is this: in 1990, I voted for the Republican candidate for Governor. I disliked John Silber, the Democratic candidate, as much as I imagine you dislike Donald trump. So I bit the bullet and voted Red.
If I could do it then, you can vote Blue now.
