I thought about using a picture of Sen. Cruz, but no one needs to see that.
In any case, I’ll keep this relatively short.
During the puff piece passing as a Town Hall on MSNBC (thanks again, Chuck Todd, for not understanding the concept of a follow-up), Ted Cruz basically summed up this story about a transgender student suing for equal rights as:
The Education Department is suing a school to force them to let a teenage boy shower with teenage girls.
This “reading” of the story makes sense—if you actually believe that transgender identity isn’t real, or, at the very least, isn’t a valid identity. In other words, it appears to me that Sen. Cruz believes that transgender people are, effectively, confused people in drag or people with a mental illness.
Of course, there was no follow-up along these lines because Chuck Todd, but I’d “love” to see someone put that question to him.
