Despite the presence of some rabble rousers, I know most of the people who support Hillary Clinton are behind her for honest and good reasons. I’ve had some great dialogues with many of you, including CatM, BlackMax and others. My canvassing experience in PA for Bernie included a lot of interfacing with undecided voters and one Hillary voter and it was refreshing to see that the reality of people on the ground did not match the acrimony we’ve been seeing online both here and at other popular blogs and news sites.
I voted for Hillary in 2008 and there was a lot I loved about her then, some of which remains unchanged. I didn’t start following this primary in earnest until late January and my initial reaction was, “They’re two awesome candidates. Embarrassment of riches. What is everyone fighting about?” Though there are definite differences and a lot of trouble-making that occurs online (which can bias our assessment), the overwhelming majority of people voting IRL in this primary for either candidate are participating to advance honorable and positive objectives.
Congratulations to Hillary for a decisive win in New York tonight and to her supporters.
