Prove You Need Pills For That Boner!
TN state senator Sara Kyle and TN state rep Sherry Jones have introduced legislation TN HB 1927 that would require men who are seeking erectile dysfunction drugs, undergo cardiac stress tests and a note from a sexual partner stating their partner can’t get a boner without it. It seems outrageous right?? I mean, who the hell do these women think they are, dictating who does and who doesn’t need boner pills??? How is that any of their business? This clearly is the government going too far….right?
Not so fast. These gals are proving a point, and they are doing it quite well. TN has a TP GOP supermajority, and due to that, some of the most ridiculous legislation imaginable has been passed here in TN. Not the least of which is TN SB 1391 which criminalizes pregnancy outcomes. Yep, you read that right. In the state of TN if you miscarry, or your child is born with health issues, you better be prepared to prove it wasn’t something you did, like take drugs or have a glass of wine. This isn’t the first time clever and very outnumbered Democrats in the Tennessee legislature have trolled their intellectually challenged Republican constituents. Recently TN passed a law allowing people to carry guns in state parks. You know, because guns make us so much more safe…however in a very clever attempt to highlight the hypocrisy and give the bill a bit of a poison pill, Democrats added a clause to include the state capitol building!! Time to see just how confident these GOP shitbirds are about guns being ok in their own yard!! It was strictly a symbolic move by congressional Dems, but it sure forced congressional Republicans to expose their hypocrisy!! TN Republicans OK with guns on state land, just NOT in their space.
As you can see, about the only way Senate Dems in TN can have any impact on legislation here is by continually calling GOP’s crazy and turning it back on them, which is precisely what Dems Representative Sherry Jones and Senator Sara Kyle are doing, by taking a page out of Ohio Rep Nina Turner’s playbook, with this sexual performance drug bill. I’ll be following the evolution of this issue as it unfolds. But I gotta say, as a woman, I’m finding it more than a little satisfying that the men of TN might have to consider the feelings of outrage and injustice felt by women who have had their repro rights put upon and dictated by males FOREVER.
Update: As expected this bill HB 1927 was killed in committee...but it was nice to witness the other side get a taste of it’s own medicine and it obviously had an effect, because the controversial law that criminalizes pregnancy outcomes in TN that sparked the “Viagra” bill, will not be renewed, and will expire in June. It’s a tiny victory, but we’ll take it.
