I left New York in 2003 due to a deployment, and made a change of residency in 2005 when I had no job to return to. (They went bankrupt and reformed as a much smaller company) In 2006 I voted in Maryland. After another mobilization, and the spouse getting a job, we moved to Ohio, and in 2008 I voted there. When the spouses job ended and after five years of trying to find full time employment, we moved to Kentucky where we found jobs at almost the same pay. In 2013 I voted in KY. For the last three weeks I have been getting phone call after phone call asking if i’ll vote for Candidate X or Y or even Q. The people on the phone say the got my name from the voter rolls, 11 years after moving away.
I went to the NYS web page and found that I am still listed to vote...at an address I had in 1995 (four addresses before I left the state—and it no longer exists, its a CVS today)! I find that weird. Sort a revers voter purge. Now i’m sure it would be fraud for me to request a ballot for the primary, but i’m also wondering if there is a way to see if “I” vote in the primary. I’ve not been able to find a way to do that till well after the election and to buy an updated list showing who voted.
Anyways, strange.
