Three of Senator Sander’s policy proposals have taken wing this week. Three Bernie Sanders -led policies are being adopted. Bernie is advocating on behalf of working people and poor people and bringing much needed public attention to the many ways our laws and public policy are unfairly leveled against the vast majority of U.S. citizens.

The White House is taking action on closing tax inversions, whereby corporations locate in another country and then claim that country as their main base of operations to avoid paying U.S. taxes. Senator Sanders had proposed policies to close these loopholes, but with a mostly non-functioning government, pointed out how this could be effectively addressed without the Senate or the House.
‘The Administration has the authority to block the tax avoidance strategies that become available to corporations after they invert, which are the main motivation for most inversions. The Administration rightly acted in September of 2014 to block one such tax avoidance strategy known as ‘hopscotch loans’ but has not yet acted on another, known as ‘earnings stripping.'”
Senator Sanders has also been a powerful advocate for a 15$ minimum wage, which has now been adopted in New York, and California. Oregon has many communities that have now passed laws to effect this. Of course, Sanders opponent, who advocated for twelve dollars and presented her many reasons for this lower figure, is now publicly supporting $15, too.
Lastly the Administration Drug Enforcement Agency may reconsider marijuana policy. This policy is widely thought to fuel mass incarceration, to unfairly aid for-profit prisons in meeting “quotas”, and be unevenly prosecuted in Communities of Color versus White communities, though usage/possession rates are about the same.
Senator Sanders has a long history of powerful, consistent advocacy in examining policy consequences for the people of this nation, not the selfish interests of a small, enmeshed fraction of people unwilling to participate in the well being of our national community.
Of course you won’t be reading or hearing about any of this from our so called “free press” where corporate owned telecommunications companies can contribute heavily to a particular campaign and then claim to be “unbiased” in their reporting and framing of “news”, and flood the airwaves with distraction and disinformation.
Thank you, Senator Sanders, for caring about “policy consequences” to the 99%. You have often been the lone voice for policy consequences to the rest of the nation- for decades.
Bernie is advocating on behalf of working people and poor people: the folks who can’t buy five figure access, and wouldn’t know how to cleverly launder their money legally through the DNC . . . through enormous PAC’s. (and probably wouldn’t want to: just because it can now be done “legally” does not mean this is ethical or morally acceptable.)
FIGHT THE HOLLOW STATE: LET’S BE A REAL DEMOCRACY. GO BERNIE!
