It appears that the FPer didn’t even bother to read the entire article (is this deja vu) because as slanted as the story is on its face: it is clear: there is no story here... and btw… If we get a Democratic president and the press is still doing this shit, remember how you didn’t bother to hold them to account, when their bullshit fit your narratives.
She said: Margaret Archer, president of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, said Friday that Sanders didn’t follow proper protocol by failing to contact her office and that his presence threatens to make the event political. “Sanders made the first move, for the obvious reasons,” Archer said.
Archer did not know whom he or his representatives contacted.
Archer added: “His use of it is clearly a pretext. There are just 20 academics and there will be nothing of policy relevance.”

He said: The academy’s chancellor (Bishop Marcelo Sanchez Sorondo) said he arranged the invitation and defended the Vermont senator.
“We are interested in having him because we have two presidents coming from Latin America, I thought it would be good to have an authoritative voice from North America,” Sanchez Sorondo said. Asked when he when the invitation was extended, he said, “Quite some time ago.”
Facts apparently unknown by Archer (or the FPer who posted it on dKos):
1. Sanders was invited by Bishop Sorondo (we know this because the Bishop said it). This begs the question: are invitees instructed to contact Archer’s office? Did Bishop Marcelo Sanchez Sorondo, who invited Sanders, not give him necessary instructions? Is this a pissing contest between Archer and the bishop?
2. Archer appears to be worried Sanders is making this a political event… there are just 20 academics... except, Bolivian President Evo Morales and Ecuadorean President Rafael Correa are both attending and listed as speakers on the academy’s website
3. Archer says Sanders made the first move, but she offers no proof, and has no clue with whom Sanders had contact and gives no details nor does she back up her claim.
my analysis: Clinton campaign’s disqualify Sanders strategy in full view:
Archer’s public complaint feeds into criticism by Clinton of Sanders’s inexperience in diplomacy
… but just wait for it, because the Clinton camp will find something here.

U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders was invited to speak at an April 15 Vatican event by the Vatican, a senior papal official said on Friday, denying a report that Sanders had invited himself.
“I deny that. It was not that way," Monsignor Marcelo Sanchez Sorondo told Reuters in a telephone interview while he was traveling in New York. Sorondo, a close aide to Pope Francis, is chancellor of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, which is hosting the event. He said it was his idea to invite Sanders.
