When I got home from work today (I work 6 pm to 10 am), I stopped by the polling place to cast my vote. Normally when I show up at this time, i’m behind one or two people and am in the low 70 or 80’s number wise (General elections it is more 110 to 140).
I had to wait behind seven people. Now to be fair, part of the problem was a bus had stopped just before I got there and one of the ladies at the table was in the bathroom. But my number was 138.
Now, I’m 100% sure my experience means very little about the end results, but of the conversations no one was supporting Clinton. I’ve only seen two Clinton signs in my work area and one in my neighborhood. Sanders signs all over. When i’m in the more wealthy areas, I see more Clinton signs and a lot of nice cars have her bumperstickers.
In my Local, I know of only four Clinton supporters — but they are the leaders who also decided not to have a poll on who to support because the higher up leadership said not to and then endorsed Clinton. I’m not seeing a lot of support at the area around me for Clinton. I don’t understand how she keeps getting so many votes.
I know my experience in the area I live and work is not the same for everyone. My working class neighborhood is, judging by the yardsigns evenly split between Trump and Sanders. No one seems to support Clinton.
Well I’m off to bed, my spouse gets home at 430 so I can head back to work. I’ll be checking my phone for the results most of the night between 911 calls.
Go Sanders!
