As I write this, the Kentucky results are still up in the air, but it’s not too soon to recognize a colossal performance of methodical, organized dumbfuckery by the incompetent, narrative-obsessed and English-challenged morons who populate the American ‘mainstream’ press… left, right and center.
This is what Hillary Clinton said during a March 13 CNN ‘Town Hall’:
“So for example, I'm the only candidate which has a policy about how to bring economic opportunity using clean renewable energy as the key into coal country. Because we're going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business, right?
“And we're going to make it clear that we don't want to forget those people. Those people labored in those mines for generations, losing their health, often losing their lives to turn on our lights and power our factories.
“Now we've got to move away from coal and all the other fossil fuels, but I don't want to move away from the people who did the best they could to produce the energy that we relied on.”
… whereupon virtually every last bobblehead flickering on your tee-vee machine proceeded to tell the world (and Kentucky voters) that Clinton had declared she would “put coal miners and coal companies out of business” — and they’ve all made a point of repeating this editorial by-product incessantly, including in their razor-sharp “analysis” as the polls opened in Kentucky.
Late reports suggest that she may carry the state anyway and, in the grand scheme of things, Kentucky won’t change the ultimate outcome of this primary. Moreover, there are far more egregious daily press failures, not the least of which is the shameless refusal of the entire “news” establishment to openly — and with conviction — declare Donald Trump an active personality disorder in progress.
Sometimes, it’s the little things that can really get under your skin...
