Hillary’s support among Democratic primary voters went from 50% to 51% since the April poll and Bernie’s support remained steady at 44%.
The hypothetical head to head general election matchups.
Clinton 47%
Trump 41%
and
Sanders 51%
Trump 38%
Hillary’s lead over Trump went from 10 points in April to 6 points now. (Bernie’s lead over Trump grew). About half of Democrats said the party was united, the other half saying it was divided.
Notably a healthy majority of Democrats said that a “long race for the nomination will help the Democrats in November”. So those Democrats calling for Bernie to halt his campaign would seem to be a noisy minority.
The second figures in the blockquote below are the April poll numbers.

The poll shows Republicans largely are coming together to back Trump despite the high profile renunciations. The majority of Republicans (84%) are ready to support Trump. The Republican Party doesn’t seem like a such a dysfunctional fractured party after all. Hopefully a Trump undertow will sink a lot of them.
The majority of Democrats (83%) are ready to support either of the Democratic candidates with Bernie getting more enthusiastic support than Hillary or Trump.
It’s a reality check to see how a month of sometimes furious online attacks on both the Democratic candidates have moved the needle not at all. Our role in all of this is far less significant in the grand scheme of party politics than some folks here might like to believe, judging by some of the extreme partisanship displayed by both sides.
